Anduril Industries, Inc.

US defence technology company founded in 2017; the Lattice software, the Fury and ALTIUS unmanned aircraft, interceptors and undersea vehicles; Rheinmetall’s partner in Europe.

History

Anduril Industries is a US defence technology company incorporated on 20 April 2017 by Palmer Luckey (founder of Oculus VR), Trae Stephens, Brian Schimpf, Matt Grimm and Joe Chen. It builds its systems around its own AI software platform, Lattice, which links sensors, unmanned systems and effectors into a common operating picture. The company has grown quickly through its own development and acquisitions – among them Area-I (2021), maker of the ALTIUS UAV, Dive Technologies (2022), Blue Force Technologies (2023), whose design Fury is based on, and Numerica’s radar business (2024).

Ownership and figures

Anduril Industries, Inc. is a private company headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, with offices across the US, in London and in Sydney. The CEO is Brian Schimpf and the chairman Trae Stephens. In 2025 revenue was about $2.2 billion, and in 2026 it employed about 7,000 people. The company has raised several rounds of venture funding; in May 2026 it raised $5 billion at a $61 billion valuation.
