Drone entered Moldova from Ukraine
News.ro and Digi24, citing deschide.md and NewsMaker.md, report that a drone entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of Odesa region at 04:23 on Wednesday morning. Both outlets cite the same Moldovan publications, and there is as yet no independent confirmation of the flight.

A drone entered Moldovan airspace without authorisation at 04:23 on 4 November 2026, News.ro and Digi24 report, citing deschide.md and NewsMaker.md. According to the reports, the aircraft came from the direction of Zahnitkiv in Ukraine’s Odesa region and headed towards Camenca, on the left bank of the Dniester. Flank had found no independent confirmation of this information at the time of publication. This article may be updated with further information.
Digi24: aircraft was over Moldova for two minutes
Digi24 reports that the aircraft left Moldovan airspace at 04:25 near Vărăncău, in Soroca district, heading towards Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region. According to the route described, the incursion therefore lasted two minutes.
Both Romanian outlets refer to the same Moldovan publications. Their reports therefore do not constitute two independent confirmations of the incident.
Digi24 reports 19 violations in October
Digi24 places the alleged flight in the context of large-scale Russian attacks on Ukraine. The outlet also cites a statement issued by the Moldovan Ministry of Defence two days earlier. According to Moldova’s Ministry of Defence, the country’s airspace was violated 19 times in October, and six drones exploded on the ground.
This information provides context for the report of 4 November but does not establish who the specific aircraft belonged to.
Flight direction does not prove origin
Entry from the direction of Ukraine does not necessarily mean the aircraft was Ukrainian: the direction of flight alone reveals neither the operator nor the launch site.
The aircraft’s type, affiliation and mission remain unclear, as does whether there was a military response or any damage. A direct statement from the Moldovan authorities and tracking information are needed to verify the incident. Without them, neither the purpose of the flight nor the actions of air defences can be reliably assessed.
